Querbes Tennis Curriculum
At Querbes, we use methods endorsed by the United States Tennis Association, the
governing body of Tennis in the US.
For kids, it’s not as practical to have them use yellow balls when trying to teach them
basic tennis skills. The ball is too heavy and the courts are too large. We modify the
experience of learning tennis for them so that they learn proper technique at the fastest
pace possible.
The three balls we use in progression of skill level are: The red ball, orange ball, and
green ball. After they so proficiency, we then move them to the Adult yellow ball.
At Querbes, they will progress one color at a time.
Typically, the ages used for these different balls are:
Ages 3 to 7 use red balls.
Ages 8 to 10 use orange balls
Ages 11 and up use green dot balls.
And at proficiency levels we move our kids to yellow balls.
Our goal is to help your kids will learn how to play and keep scoring
according to the USTA rules and regulations as quickly as possible. That way they can
play in junior team tennis, middle and high school teams, and
even USTA sanctioned tournaments.
Come to Querbes and be a part of the most progressive and cost effective tennis
program in Shreveport!
